Easy there all you net surfing gun nuts!  This is not for you.  I'm talking muscle glycogen here, not your spent shells from last weekend's Skeetapalooza!  Go away!

The day of reckoning is at hand.  Sunlight is this Saturday and today was the last real workout.  I hit the weight room and felt recovered from this weekend's 20,000 feet.  Gotta love those Monday do-nothing-recovery-days.  I hit 235# again and did triples with 210# for a few sets.  Kept the volume low.  Better probably would have been to nix the weights all together but I'm trying to train through this just a little.  I only did 2 laps on Snow King, mostly easy with a set of 13 30/30 intervals pretty hard toward the end of the first lap.  I was only getting after it for 6 1/2 minutes but my HR was up there for the 13.  Not too much but enough to know things felt good.  I did one more easy lap just because...well...I probably have a problem.  But I digress...

Anyway,  I will probably noodle on the bike tomorrow and try to skin a lap on Thursday before driving to Rock Springs for the night.  We will finish the drive Friday morning so it should be civilized.  The race does not kick off until 11am Saturday so there will be plenty of time to feed and get jacked for the start!  Weather looks decidedly shitty with some rain possible but what can you do?  Those interested can follow the race in real time on the website.  I'll provide the gory details here and Dina might have a real gig with Outside Online, chronicalling her suffering there. - Brian

Brian,

Congratulations, terrific race.
It was "fun" and motivating to compete against you guys.

Awesome job, fantastic performance at 24 hours of sunlight.
Have a great season. Will keep in touch with you, (if you are interested in Hagan skis),
may we suggest you, if they are indeed putting a sponsored racing team together in the US)

Hope you are recovering ok.
Regards,

Eva

Thanks Eva,
You guys are badasses, for sure! Yeah, I think I'm just about out from under it now. Did some intervals on the bike trainer tonight and felt normal. Took a full 4 days off. Will go ski in the bc tomorrow.

For sure, keep me in mind if the Hagan ski thing pans out. Would also love to have a contact for some after market tech heel pieces that are so hard to get here. I just can't afford Dynafit Low Techs right now.

Stay in touch.
